Job Summary:
The Legal Assistant will perform various routine clerical duties to include greeting clients, answering phones, assisting clients, data entry, and filing under the supervision of the Paralegal.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Greets clients in a polite manner by answering phones, directing calls to appropriate individuals, and preparing detailed and accurate records of messages.
- Performs clerical duties including scheduling appointments, creating professional email and letters, filing, and mail processing (including registered mail).
- Maintains files related to office activities, business transactions, and other matters manually and electronically.
- Inventories and restocks supplies and maintains a clean and organized office.
- Commits to the firm’s values and maintains accountability to the responsibilities assigned.
- Other duties as assigned include driving to multiple county courthouses.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Punctual with a strong attendance history.
- Ability to effectively communicate through phone calls, and professional business email and letter writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills in dealing with conflict.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new technology and software.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years (2) clerical experience in a legal office, preferred, OR
- Equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the functions and responsibilities of the position.
